¾Æ½Ã¾ÆÀÇ ¼û°ÜÁø º¸¼®, ¾ÓÄÚ¸£ ¿ÍÆ® Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Stretching over some 400 sq. km, including forested area, Angkor Archaeological Park contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century. These include the famous Temple of Angkor Wat and, at Angkor Thom, the Bayon Temple with its countless sculptural decorations. UNESCO has set up a wide-ranging programme to safeguard this symbolic site and its surroundings. ¾ÓÄÚ¸£ ¿ÍÆ®´Â ºñ½´´©¿¡°Ô ÇåÁ¤µÈ »ç¿øÀ¸·Î, ¾ÓÄÚ¸£ À¯ÀûÁö Áß °¡Àå Å« »ç¿øÀÌ¸ç ¶Ç °¡Àå Àß º¸Á¸µÇ¾î ÀÖ´Â, Å©¸Þ¸£ °ÇÃà ¿¹¼öÀÇ ±ØÄ¡¸¦ ÀÌ·ç´Â ¿ª»çÀûÀÎ ¿¹¼úÇ°ÀÌ´Ù. Àå¾öÇÑ ¿Õ±¹¿ª»ç ¼û½¬´Â ¼¼°è 7´ë ºÒ°¡»çÀÇ ÀÚ¶û The Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia is the worlds largest religious monument. The temples at Angkor was built 879 - 1191AD and used for 400 years during the kings of the Khmer empire. The Khmers left the city in 1432, and after that it was lost in the jungle until a French explorer, Henri Mouhot, found it in 1860. He died of malaria 1 year later only 35 years old. A restoration project was started in 1908 and has continued since than except for periods in the 70''s and 80''s when military operations prevented archaeologists from working in the area. ¾ÓÄÚ¸£ÀÇ ¸ðµç °ÇÃ๰Àº »ý¸íÀ» ¶æÇÏ´Â µ¿ÂÊÀÌ Á¤¹®Àε¥ ¹ÝÇØ, ÀÌ°÷¸¸ÀÌ Á×À½À» ¶æÇÏ´Â ¼ÂÊÀ¸·Î Á¤¹®ÀÌ ³ª ÀÖ´Ù. ¶§¹®¿¡ ÀÌ »ç¿øÀº ¼ö¸®¾Æ¹Ù¸£¸¸ 2¼¼ÀÇ Àå·Ê¸¦ Ä¡¸£±â À§ÇÑ »ç¿øÀ¸·Î Áö¾îÁ³´Ù°í ÃßÃøµÇ¾îÁö°í ÀÖ´Ù. ¾ç°¢ ºÎÁ¶ ¶ÇÇÑ ¿ÞÂÊ¿¡¼ ¿À¸¥ÂÊÀ¸·Î µ¹¸ç Á¶°¢µÇ¾î Àִµ¥, À̰͵µ ÈùµÎ±³ÀÇ Àå·Ê½Ä ÀýÂ÷¿¡ ¾²ÀÌ´Â ¹ýµµÀÌ´Ù. ¾ÓÄÚ¸£ ¿ÍÆ®´Â ¼®Á¶ °ÇÃ๰·Î ¸¸µé¾îÁø ¿ìÁÖÀÇ Ãà¼ÒÆÇÀ¸·Î Áö»ó¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ¿ìÁÖÀÇ ¸ðÇüÀÌ´Ù.
