레이날도 안의 인기작 '시불레트' 오페레타 영상물 최초 발매. 안(1875-1947)은 20세기 전반 파리의 농후한 분위기를 가장 잘 전달해준 작곡가 중 한 명으로 오페라와 오페레타 작품이 상당수 있다. 그 중에서도 가장 인기 있었던 이 작품은 채소가게 아가씨가 다정하지만 조금 우유부단한 젊은 귀족 앙토난과 이어지게 되는 이야기를 그린 것으로, 귀족의 연회, 번화가 시장, 교외의 시골 마을, 가짜 스페인 여가수 등 재미있는 전개와 풍성한 볼거리로 눈과 귀가 즐거운 오페레타다. 3막의 서두에서는 실제 연출을 맡은 미셸 포가 카스틸룐느 백작부인으로 분장해 형편없는 노래를 부르고, 실제 오페라 코믹 극장 감독 제롬 드샹이 극장 지배인으로 나와 포복절도의 토막극을 펼친다. 유럽 최고의 아카펠라 앙상블 악상투스와 툴롱 오페라 극장 심포니를 지휘하는 로렌스 에퀼베이의 세련되고 다이나믹한 음악도 훌륭하다.
